Foxtel announced in early April 2018 that production has started on the seventh season of its multi-award-winning and critically acclaimed drama series Wentworth, set to premiere in 2019 on showcase.

Season seven of Wentworth is likely to again consist of 12 episodes like previous seasons of wentworth.

The show first Aired in 2013 and is a remake/reimage of the classic Prisoner: Cell Block H.

Season 7 may be released in June, if it follows the same release date as Season 6 or it may debut

Who will star in Wentworth season 7?

Wentworth season 7 was filmed sequential with the airing of Season 6, so most likely most of Season 6 cast will star in the new season along with some new faces.

Season six introduced three new characters this season that will be returning for Season 7.

Leah Purcell as Rita Connors, Susie Porter as Marie Winter and Rarriwuy Hick as Ruby Mitchell.

The fate of Joan "The Freak" Ferguson seemed very uncertain in season six which can leave room for a return in season 7.

Other cast that most likely will be returning in Season 7 includes Tammy MacIntosh as Karen "Kaz" Proctor, Bernard Curry as Jake Stewart, Robbie J. Magasiva as Will Jackson, Kate Atkinson as Vera Bennett, and Kate Jenkinson as Allie Novak.

Whats the plot for Season 7?

Season seven will resume from the previous season which ended with a slight cliffhanger between Rita and Marie.

Main Plot of Season 7 will most likely consist of Rita Vs Marie and having Marie find out the truth about Ruby.

Other details are unknown but we can expect more intense gritty drama from the award-winning show.

There have also been numerous reports that season 7 could be last, but nothing has been officially confirmed by Foxtel or the creators of the show.
